A friend had no problems with the same drivetrain until a little bit ago. Granted, his Tacoma had at least 350k.

Rust killed mine but im sure it would have survived forever mechanically

Southern truck. Mine has seen road salt maybe once. Just looked at the frame and underside last week and not a spot of rust.
